HES was established on May 27, 2003 with 9 students and two teachers. The first place during that time had no road access, no market and other facilities. Children in Rasuwa in those days had no opportunity of learning in English. Only 1% children had access for quality education in the city schools. The 99% children had no other alternative than going to village school where the education would be at low level only in Nepali and the village schools were not able to produce qualified and competent students. Me, Balkrishna Shrestha, the founder and Principal of HES, with immense desire to provide quality education to the deprived children, started HES at Thambuchet village of Rasuwa district.

The very first day, women in the community came to greet the teachers and students with traditional greeting items (Khada and Syalkar). They were so happy to see their children learning English alphabets and numbers. The students, within a week’s time, were able to introduce themselves in English. Parents had no limit of joy as they saw their children communicating in a language which they desired. Every day, dozens of parents and other people would enter the school premises to take the pleasure of learning activities in HES. As the children started learning English so well so fast, many parents wanted to send their children to HES. We had great difficulty in accommodating big number of students in the very first year.

     Since the time of establishment until now, HES has become a center of quality education. HES is focused to transform lives through the quality education so that our nation will get equipped man power for building the nation.
